Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a 4,000 year old healing therapy that balances energy within the body.   It is used to restore health and well-being, and is particularly beneficial in the treatment of pain.

Acupuncture is a family of procedures involving the stimulation of anatomical locations on or in the skin by a variety of techniques.  The most common way it to stimulate acupuncture points using thin, solid metallic needles, which are manipulated manually or by electrical stimulation.  The needles that are used vary in length from ½ inch to 5 inches and are very thin. Some people will feel discomfort at the site of the acupuncture point. This discomfort confirms that this point is blocked and needs to be needled.  Most of the time patients say that they do not feel the needles.
