Meet Our Staff:

Dr. Frederick Schuster, Chiropractor

Dr. Fredrick Schuster has treated patients as a Chiropractic Physician since April 1996.  He received his doctorate from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL and his Bachelor of Science from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.  Dr. Schuster served as a paramedic/fireman in the Chicago Northwest suburbs for over ten years before entering Chiropractic School.  He is focused on improving the health of his patients through the use of chiropractic care, injury rehabilitation, and nutritional counseling.  Dr. Schuster is a staff doctor at St. Alexius Hospital, and a member of the American Chiropractic Association, Illinois Chiropractic Society, and Woodfield Area Children’s Organization.

Dr. Maricris Barreyro, Chiropractor

Dr. Maricris Barreyro is a Chiropractic Physician who has earned both her Bachelor’s degree in Life Science and Chiropractic Doctorate from Logan College of Chiropractic. Originally from Streamwood, IL, Dr. Barreyro went to UIC for the majority of her Undergraduate studies. She is an avid tennis player, dancer, and has previously participated in the Chicago Marathon. Dr. Barreyro is full body certified in Active Release Technique (ART) and is confident in treating muscle adhesions and nerve entrapments. She is also certified as an Internal Health Specialist and uses that knowledge for nutritional counseling and utilizes acupuncture as a supplemental part of her treatment.

Tyrone Foster, Massage Therapist

Tyrone Foster graduated from Advance Anatomy Massage Academy in 2001. He is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and is a certified massage therapist.

Victor Gomez, Massage Therapist

Victor Gomez is a certified and licensed massage therapist. He has worked as a massage therapist with Total Athleticare for over five years. Victor’s therapeutic massage specialties include Swedish, deep tissue, and sports massage. He works in conjunction with the doctors as well as on an hourly basis. When Victor is not working at Total Athleticare, he plays the alto horn in a well known Mexican band named La Enakatadora.

Mayra Ayala, Massage Therapist

Mayra Ayala joined the Total Athleticare team in 2010. She received her certification in Massage Therapy for Olympia College in 2005. Mayra specializes in therapeutic massage, deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, and chair massage. Mayra volunteers her massage therapy services to participants annually in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer and Make a Wish Foundation. In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors with her 2 year old son, dancing and reading. Mayra works in conjunction with the doctors as well as on an hourly basis.

Raphael De Ocampo, Massage Therapist

Raphael is a certified and licensed massage therapist as well as a member of the ABMP- Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals. He has worked as a massage therapist with Total Athleticare for over four years. Raphael is known to his clients for his professional and personalized massage techniques concordant to his intensive training in Chinese Oriental Massage from a Chinese master in the Philippines. His massage specialties include Swedish, deep tissue, and acupressure. Raphael works in conjunction with the doctors as well as on an hourly basis.
